About Single Malt Scotch Whisky
A Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a whisky that is the product of a single distillery which has been matured for a minimum period of three years in oak casks with 40% ABV minimum.
Cask Types
There are different types used to mature single malt scotch whiskies and the common ones are Bourbon, Wine, Port, Sherry, Madeira, Rum and Beer.
Whisky Regions
There are six Scotch Whisky regions – Speyside, Highland, Lowland, Campbeltown, Islay and Islands. Each offers a different perspective on Scotch Whisky.
