Around the mid 19th century, John Morrison was a master builder and industrial pioneer, busy building Glasgow’s Queen’s Dock and raising Loch Katrine, a whole generation before his family discovered whisky. His son, Stanley P. Morrison would go on to become one of the most successful whisky brokers of the region – taking ownership of distilleries such as Morrison-Bowmore and Glengarioch.
John’s grandsons, Tim and Brian, would take in his father’s steps – buying the Auchentoshan Distillery (now part of Beam Suntory) and A.D Rattray. In 2017 he would erect The Clydeside Distillery, with the hopes of reviving the heritage of whisky-distilling in Glasgow.
Honouring the grand tradition of whisky-making, the craftsmen of The Clydeside only hand-distill its spirits, wholeheartedly indulging in the many senses of whisky making.
One of the youngest of Glasgow’s spirits, their first single malt is expected to release anytime soon – and we’re sure it will be worth the wait.
