Maiden Whisky Tasting Experience in India – Kerala, India

Barrel Next hosted it’s maiden whisky and food pairing experience in India featuring Scotland’s oldest working distillery – The Glenturret . The distillery was recently awarded the “Distiller of the Year” at the Icons of Whisky Scotland 2022 awards. This accolade comes after the acquisition of the distillery by luxury crystal maker Lalique and Swiss entrepreneur Hansjörg Wyss from Edrington in 2019.

The event was held at the private dining room of Colony Clubhouse & Grill at Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty hotel.

Whiskies tasted during the event were the awarding winning 12 Year Old and Triple Wood expressions from “2020 Maiden Release” of The Glenturret created by legendary Bob Dalgarno who previously spent 30 years at The Macallan as their master distiller. 

Each whisky was paired with food to ensure that the food complimented and brought out the flavours of the whisky. The 12 Year Old whisky was paired with 7-day-dry-aged Tenderloin and Triple Wood whisky was paired with Tres Leche.

An enjoyable night indeed. Slainte !!!
